Day 1 Intro

Welcome to Day 1 of Format Library Championship V!
Half of the official Modern GoatRank Top 10 are in attendance for our main event today along with the reigning champion of FLC IV and plenty more top-level contenders for a final total of 24 players. They'll be playing through five rounds of Swiss competition before we cut to Top 4 for Day 2. As always, we have a wide variety of decks in the field today ranging from traditional Goat Control to rogue strategies like Aggro Burn and the DMoC Launch variant of Reasoning/Gate.

Chaos Turbo is undeniably the deck to beat going into this event. Less than a week ago, noted Turbo advocate Weston "Iwasbanned0ndn" Lundgren was declared the DuelistGroundz Spring Seasonal Playoff Champion, and a mere three months prior, Adam "Dinosaur_Ryuzaki" Munkhzaya claimed a Format Library Championship with the same type of deck. Both of these Champions are representing Chaos Turbo today, each with their own unique spin on the deck that builds off of the Mask of Darkness toolbox approach I covered earlier back in FLC II.  However, many other decks are poised to claim a Championship this weekend as well. Stay tuned for the latest coverage of Swiss at FLC V!
