KL1993
Region/Hometown: Nantes in France
Greatest Dueling influence: it's pretty hard to say, since i'm not really the kind of person who can be "influenced" by somebody else, i would say anybody who play for fun, with fair play, and able to make original and creative deck
fair play and sportsmanship are very important to me in this kind of game and i stopped the game irl in early 2011 because of a general lack of sportsmanship (at least where i lived) people were like "how i can extradraw, rulesharking find a game lost)
so i can't really came out with a name of greatest duelling influence, but it would be anybody playing fair and able to make original decks
What deck did you play and why did you choose to play it?
I play a Panda Burn deck i choose it because it is very fun, i could had go by an easy way and play a more classical deck but i wanted to play something very uncommon and fun, and this deck can be an atomic bomb against classical goat control. I have some other differents decks in mind but i wanted to play an original deck. I had to say i didn't expected to go so far with this deck so i'm very happy with my choice and i hope it would be an inspiration for people who wanted to go with more orignal deck in this kind of tournaments
Who was your hardest matchup on Day 1 and why?
It's hard to say because i had pretty good opposents i think. I was in facts pretty close to lose against Fixd i think, but i was also very afraid when i was against sparky when i saw his aggro deck because, more the deck is aggro, more it's difficult to pull a win with my deck, so i think it's beetween those 2.
What did you think of your Day 2 bracket rounds? Who was your hardest opponent?
If you speak about the top 4 i enjoyed it, however the rules about showing the decklist had a massive influence about how i play (it's not a complain at all, i say this because it's really interesting to note this point). If i didn't saw the decklist of Insids and i was banned on dn i would had remove on game 2 and 3 all the burn traps, expecting a royal decree side, so this rule was pretty interesting and it possibly had an impact on the results (maybe insids would have won against me and the tournament, or maybe i would be able to win the finals i don't know), also i'm very curious about the "what if" if brandis was here since i had a better chance to win against goat control than chaos. [the hardest opponent was] i was banned on dn since he beat me, his deck is kind of hard to predict, some people could be skeptical when they saw his decklist and all the traps on x1 but it's his strength and i was like "wtf what should i side against him" and i end up siding only 2 kycoo, so it was definitely him and he beats me fairly so congrats to him
In your opinion, what are the top 3 decks of Goat Format?
i guess the expected answer is goat control chaos and stun (like king tiger wanghu/kycoo/abyss soldier and stuff like this) but i think it's clearly possible to beat those deck with an original deck. I think goat control specially is maybe overrated since it lacks to physical strength i saw a lot of goat control players struggle for beat a simple sangan, or a tsuku in def. Of course it's a very stable deck but i think you can find better decks, but people can be easily scared to go in an original way and they go in goat control since it's more secure. (i don't want attack goat control player however it's a skilled deck to play and i had to say : the addition of abyss soldier is very good for fight against the lack of physical strength of goat control)

BRANDIS72
Region/Hometown: Montreal, Quebec
Greatest Dueling influence: Ynusgridorh, Kev, Jazz - learned a lot from them and they in many respects brought me to where I am now; despite my still terrible technical play, I have a thorough understanding of play theory
What deck did you play and why did you choose to play it?
Goat Control - for fun more than anything else
Who was your hardest matchup on Day 1 and why?
ACP - meta-based control vs control matchups reward the better player pretty consistently, and my opponent's technical play is miles beyond mine
What did you think of your Day 2 bracket rounds? Who was your hardest opponent?
I was most afraid of iwasbannedondn - a high variance matchup where things can easily go wrong; KL1993 was playing a deck that I see as thoroughly rogue/unviable, so I felt that my odds improve off of that (despite the variance), and InsiDS was a fellow goat control player that, from what I've seen, doesn't play as well as I do, giving me a noticeable edge
In your opinion, what are the top 3 decks of Goat Format?
In a vacuum/matchup spread wise, Stallburn, then Empty Jar, then PACMAN, although I think that in a finalized/established metagame where people are not biased against combo, the end result would look something like a triangle format with Stallburn, Empty Jar, and Zoo as the pivotal decks

IWASBANNED0NDN
Region/Hometown: Houston, Texas
Greatest Dueling influence: Simon He/Peter Cheng
What deck did you play and why did you choose to play it?
Chaos Highlander siding into Goat Control? Tbh idk what you call it. A lot of good cards and no bad cards.
Who was your hardest matchup on Day 1 and why?
Brandis, solely because match was interrupted after G1. I wasn’t able to side properly and lost. Seriously think I would have gone undefeated, deck is so good.
What did you think of your Day 2 bracket rounds? Who was your hardest opponent?
KL’s deck was unique but geared toward beating goat control. Knowing he didn’t main certain cards like noc, tt, etc was very beneficial g1 for me. Hardest opponent? Not sure who I sexually stimulated the strongest but I think KL has a thing for me
In your opinion, what are the top 3 decks of Goat Format?
Bls/sorc deck, cyber jar/morphing jar deck, pacman deck

INSIDS
Region/Hometown: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Greatest Dueling influence: The show and friends
What deck did you play and why did you choose to play it?
Goat Control, it's all I know how to play
Who was your hardest matchup on Day 1 and why?
Iwasbanned0nDN, his deck worked a little too well and I couldn't keep up
What did you think of your Day 2 bracket rounds? Who was your hardest opponent?
It was fine, I actually liked the idea of keeping it best of 3. Even though best of 5 makes sense in this kind of tourney, best of 3 is true to the game even if the better player loses
In your opinion, what are the top 3 decks of Goat Format?
Goat Control, Chaos Turbo, Chaos Control
